A Relaxing Read for a Busy Season

As someone who usually goes for Herman Melville or James Joyce at the bookstore, the deep Harkness discussions in AP Lit coupled with the pressure of senior year has led me to some fluffier reading material recently. Strolling along the isles of Parnassus Books, I decided to purchase a book outside of my comfort zone: a romance novel recommended to me by the staff for a “fun, uplifting read.” If you too are looking for some positive content, I would like to recommend “The Love Hypothesis” by Allie Hazelwood. An accomplished neuroscientist in her own right, Hazelwood is the queen of STEM romance novels. The enemies to lovers trope novel focuses on the bright and happy Stanford Bio grad, Olive, and Adam, a published doctor and genius biologist. The novel incudes asexual representation and a wholesome romance, fit for the holiday season. It’s a sweet story to cuddle into with a cup of hot chocolate and fluffy blankets astride the holiday fireplace. This novel will brighten your day and the “will they / won’t they '' suspense sure is a lot of fun. Fun recommendation.
