The Ensworth hockey team finished the first half of the regular season in fourth place of the Tier II standings with a record of 3 wins, 3 losses, and 1 tie behind USN/BA/NCA, Rutherford County, and Father Ryan. This means they will not be promoted to Tier I, but it doesn’t mean a championship is out of reach.
Rutherford County and Father Ryan were promoted to Tier I while Centennial and Independence were relegated to Tier II. Ensworth/Lipscomb Academy/Nolensville will play 14 more games before the playoffs. They also played a friendly exhibition game against MBA which ended in an 8-8 finish.
Ensworth student-athletes, Justin Nozko (9 goals, 6 assists) and Ben Sonkin (6 goals, 3 assists) have led the team so far.
They started the second half with a tie against Summit-Page. The next game is against Hendersonville/Beech at 8:00pm at the Centennial Sportsplex
