Sports Year in Review

McKenna Adams, '25


Fall


Cross Country

Both girls’ and boys’ Cross Country accomplished a lot this year, with 7 girls, Selin Weitkamp (‘25), Julia Grace Linn (‘26), Lizzie McWilliams (‘25), Tatum Saunders (‘24), Evie Denbo (‘26), Helen Thompson (‘23), and Alara Weitkamp (‘24) running in the State meet and 7 boys, Grant Rehm (‘25), Lucas Rehm (‘23), Jackson Rehm (‘23), Gabriel Dean (‘26), Austin Philp (‘23), CJ Cavolo (‘26), and Weston Smith (‘26) finishing in the top 10 at the State meet.


Golf

Both boys’ and girls' teams had very successful seasons. The boys’ team won the Regional Championship, and both teams brought home the TSSAA Division II-AA Golf State Championship. Tommy Frist IV (‘23) made the Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State Golf Team, the Tennessean All-Midstate Boys' Golf Team, and the Main Street Preps All-Midstate Region Boys' Golf Team. Sam Johnson ('23) and Ethon Stanford III ('23) were honorable mentions for the Main Street Preps All-Midstate Region Boys' Golf Team. The boys’ coach, Nate Parrish, won Tennessean All-Midstate Boys' Golf Coach of the Year. Savannah Cherry ('24) made the Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State Golf Team and was an honorable mention for the Main Street Preps All-Midstate Girls' Golf Team.


Football

The football team ended their season with a 7-4 record and made it to the quarterfinals of the TSSAA Division II-AA Football State tournament. Levi Moore ('23) won D2-AAA West Region Offensive MVP and participated in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Martez Cooksey ('23), Caleb Dorris ('23), Paulos Estifanos ('23), Christian Grimes ('23), Levi Moore ('23), Bralynn Morris ('23), Shamar Porter ('23), DuJuan Sharp ('23), and Mark Smith ('23) all made the D2-AAA All Region Team. Drew Bonner ('23), Mason Curtis ('24), Russell Jankowski ('23), and Zaidyn Moore ('24) were honorable mentions for the D2-AAA All Region Team. Caleb Dorris ('23) made Tennessee Sports Writers Association Division II-AAA All-State Team. Both Caleb Dorris ('23) and Paulos Estifanos '23 made the Tennessean's All Mid-State High School Football Team, Dorris making the 2nd team and Estifanos making the 3rd team. DuJuan Sharp ('23) played in the TACA East/West All Star Game. Silas Bosch ('23) was a Middle Tennessee Nation Football Foundation Admiral William P. Lawrence Recipient. Bralynn Morris ('23) and Martez Cooksey ('23) played in the Nashville All American Bowl All-Star game.


Girls’ Soccer

The soccer team ended their season with a record of 5-6-2 and made it all the way to the quarterfinals of the TSSAA Division II-AA Soccer State tournament. Breahn Fisher ('25) made the Tennessean All-Midstate Soccer Team. Addie DeCoster ('24), Breahn Fisher ('25), Mary Haley ('23), Brenna Hanbury ('25), and Emerson Smith ('26) all made the All Region Soccer Team.


Volleyball

The volleyball team ended their season with a record of 16-17 and made it all the way to the semifinals of the TSSAA Division II-AA Volleyball State tournament. Captains Katie Barrier ('23) and Hannah Scott ('23) made the Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State Volleyball Team.


Mountain Biking

The mountain biking team participated in 4 races during their seasons. Sam Mayer (‘23) participated in the State Championship race and won 3rd place.


Swimming & Diving

Swim and dive had an incredible season. 18 members of the team qualified for the 2023 TISCA Championship Meet. These members were Diana Barrett ('25) for 1 Meter 11 Dives, Caiden Bright ('23) for 50 Free and 100 Free, Bella Brodoski ('25) for 200 IM and 100 Breast, Elliott Darr ('26) for 100 Free and 100 Back, Alex Glenn ('26) for 200 Free and 100 Free, Hunter Haney ('23) for 50 Free and 1 Meter 11 Dives, Brandon Horn ('26) for 1 Meter 11 Dives, Leah Jackson ('25) for 50 Free and 100 Back, James Johnson ('24) for 200 IM and 100 Breast, Claire Kintz ('26) for 100 Fly, Julia Mason ('24) for 200 Free and 500 Free, Lizzie McWilliams ('25) for 50 Free and 100 Back, Kate Mischinski ('23) for 1 Meter 11 Dives, Ava Priestley ('25) for 1 Meter 11 Dives, Lilly Robertson ('25) for 200 Free and 100 Free, Whitney Sanders ('23) for 1 Meter 11 Dives, Olivia Solimine ('23) for 50 Free and 100 Free, and Quincy Topping V ('26) for 200 IM and 100 Breast. Girls' Swimming & Diving Team won State Championships in 3 events, Lilly Robertson ('25) won both the 200 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle, and Alex Glenn ('26), Olivia Solimine ('23), Julia Mason ('24), and Lilly Robertson ('25) won the Girls 400 Freestyle Relay. On day 1 Julia Mason ('24), Bella Brodoski ('25), Alex Glenn (‘26), Lizzie McWilliams ('25) got 10th place for the Girls 200 Medley, Elliott Darr ('26), James Johnson (‘24), Quincy Topping (‘26), Caiden Bright ('23) got 11th place for the the Boys 200 Medley Relay, Lilly Robertson ('25) got 1st and Alex Glenn (‘26) got 5th for the Girls 200 Freestyle, Julia Mason ('24) got 10th for the Girls 200 IM, Olivia Solimine (‘23) got 3rd for the Girls 50 Free, Quincy Topping (‘26) got 16th for the Boys 50 Free, and Brandon Horn (‘26) got 11th and Hunter Haney (‘23) got 14th for the Boys 1-Meter Diving. On day 2 Lilly Robertson ('25) got 1st, Olivia Solimine (‘23) got 3rd, and Alex Glenn (‘26) got 4th for the Girls 100 Free, Julia Mason ('24) got 13th for the Girls 500 Free, Elliott Darr ('26) got 12th for the Boys 100 Back, Bella Brodoski ('25) got 12th Girls 100 Breast, Olivia Solimine (‘23), Lilly Robertson ('25), Bella Brodoski ('25), Lizzie McWilliams ('25) got 2nd for the Girls 200 Free Relay, Elliott Darr ('26), Quincy Topping (‘26), James Johnson (‘24), Caiden Bright ('23) got 11th for the Boys 200 Free Relay, Alex Glenn (‘26), Olivia Solimine (‘23), Julia Mason ('24), Lilly Robertson ('25) got 1st of the Girls 400 Free Relay, Whitney Sanders (‘23) got 3rd, Ava Priestley ('25) got 7th, Kate Mischinski (‘23) got 10th, and Diana Barrett ('25) got 15th for the Girls 1-Meter Diving. Alex Glenn ('26), Olivia Solimine ('23), Julia Mason ('24), and Lilly Robertson ('25) made the MTHSSA All Region team, Alex Glenn ('26), Olivia Solimine ('23), and Lilly Robertson ('25) made the 1st team and Julia Mason ('24) was the 2nd team. Whitney Sanders (‘23) won MTHSSA Female Diver of the Year and the swim coach, Christian Bahr, won the MTHSSA Female Coach of the Year.



Winter


Bowling

The bowling team ended their season with a record of 2-9. Olivia Bentley (‘23) and Anna Belle Needham (‘23) bowled in the TSSAA Individual State Bowling Tournament where Olivia Bentley (‘23) got 21st and Anna Belle Needham (‘23) got 13th.


Basketball

The boys’ basketball team ended their season with a record of 16-12. Nic Hyche (‘24) made the all-region team and won Tennessean Player of the Week. The girls’ basketball team ended their season with a record of 27-5. They made it to the finals of the TSSAA Division II-AA Basketball State tournament. Jaloni Cambridge ('24) won Division II-AA Miss Basketball and Gatorade TN Girls Basketball Player of the Year. Jaloni Cambridge (‘24), Nori Jamison (‘26), and Alana Wells (‘26) made the All-State Tournament Team.


Ice Hockey

The ice hockey team ended their season with a record of 8-6-3. Ben Sonkin (‘24) played in the GNASH All Star game and made Tennessean's All-Midstate Hockey team.


Wrestling

Wrestling went to regions where Brandon Collins got 4th in the heavyweight division, Tanner Tapp got 6th in the 196 division, and Brayden Vallejo got 5th in the 106 division.



Spring


The baseball team ended their season with a record of 13-10. The boys’ lacrosse team ended their regular season with a record of 7-5. The girls’ lacrosse team ended their regular season with a record of 15-2. They are playing in the State tournament. The boys’ soccer team ended their regular season with a record of 4-3-4. They are playing in the TSSAA Division II-AA Basketball State tournament. The boys’ tennis team ended their regular season with a record of 6-3. The girls’ tennis team ended their regular season with a record of 9-3. Both are playing on the TSSAA Division II-AA Tennis State tournament. The softball team ended their season with a record of 9-9. They made it to the TSSAA Division II-AA Softball State tournament. Both track teams will be running in the regional meet and will run in the TSSAA Division II-AA Track State meet.
