The Ensworth hockey team, which is combined with Lipscomb and Nolensville, has been off to a great start this season. They won their opening night game against Summit-Page, whom they lost to in the Henry Hine Cup, 5-1. After a high-scoring 7-9 loss to the Tennessee Outlaw club team, they bounced back with a 3-3 tie against Station Camp-Liberty Creek. Many players on the team believed they were definitely the stronger team and were destined to win, but luck just didn’t find them. The following week, Ensworth found its rhythm again, defeating Hendersonville/Beech 9-5. On Halloween night, they fell to Rutherford County 8-4.
Ensworth players compose an essential part of the team with freshman Justin Nozko scoring 7 goals and 6 assists in these first 5 games of the season.
After five games, the team is even with two wins, two losses, and one tie, which puts them in fourth place in the Tier II standings behind USN/BA/BCA, Rutherford Co. Rampage, and Father Ryan. The next games for the team are on November 7 against Father Ryan and November 9 against USN/BA/BCA.
