The love of soda has brought us all together, but now this debate is dividing us apart. Coke and Pepsi are the two most popular sodas globally, and there is a great argument to be heard for each side as to who is the better drink. If there isn't Pepsi, you order Coke, and if there isn’t Coke, you order Pepsi. What would you choose if they are both available?
Coca-Cola is the most popular drink in the world after water. The soft drink was established in 1892 and quickly became the favorite soda. Last year, the Coca-Cola Company generated $38.65 billion.
Pepsi, founded in 1898, made $79.474 billion last year. Even though the Coke name is more popular, Pepsi makes over twice as much profit due to the sponsorships and the battles between which companies use which soft drink.
But the deciding factor between the two has to be the taste. Since 1975, both companies have conducted a blind taste tests with random people. Each person drank from two random cups, one Coke and the other Pepsi. They were told to let them know which drink they preferred. An overwhelming majority of the takers over the last 45 years have continually chosen Pepsi even though Coke would be more likely chosen with the label.
I challenge you at home to try this with your parents or siblings and see which you truly prefer!
